Anohana English Dub to Premiere at Anime Expo

Aniplex of America announced on Wednesday that its English dub of anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day will premiere at Anime Expo. The screening will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 2. ADR director Patrick Seitz and most of the main English dub cast — Griffin Burns (Jintan), Xanthe Huynh (Menma), Erica Lindbeck (Anaru), Erica Mendez (Tsuruko), and Kaiji Tang (Poppo) — will attend the event.
The 2011 television anime followed several childhood friends who try to reconnect in high school, after drifting apart due to tragedy five years earlier. It inspired a manga, a 2013 film sequel, and a 2015 live-action special.
NIS America licensed and released the television anime in 2012 and again in 2013. Aniplex of America partnered with Eleven Arts to screen the film in theaters in the United States, and then released the film on Blu-ray Disc and DVD. Crunchyroll streamed the anime in 2012 and also streamed the live-action special.
Lindbeck and Huynh will also attend a Persona 5 game panel alongside the localization team of Atlus and fellow voice actors Cherami Leigh, Cassandra Lee Morris, Erika Harlacher, Max Mittelman, and Robbie Daymond.
Viz Media also announced that the English cast of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure — including Seitz, Matthew Mercer, and Ben Diskin — will attend the convention for a panel. The English cast for Boruto -Naruto the Movie- — including Leigh, Daymond, and Amanda C. Miller — are similarly attending.
This year's Anime Expo convention will run from July 1 to July 4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. In addition, the convention will formally include a preview night a day before on June 30
